Edmonton's LRT (Light Rail Transit) Bridge

(Dudley B. Menzies Bridge)

- 20 feet long
- double monorail track
- suspended pedestrian walkway

When Andrew learned that this year's show was going to have a long model of the Edmonton High Level Bridge, he decided that it also needed the companion LRT bridge. The two are essentially side-by-side over the North Saskatchewan River, so this makes sense. Andrew designed and built this bridge as well as the LRT car shown on it. The articulated LRT car is built with a Lego monorail motor and chassis. The monorail track loops at each end of the bridge, under the tables, to form a "dogbone". The pedestrian walkway is suspended underneath the box girder sections of the bridge, just as in the real thing.
