Industrial Area

- working bascule bridge
- switching yard with runarounds
- hand built scissors crossover
- large warehouse

The industrial area includes a switching yard that is surrounded by a number of industrial buildings. The engine shed is the work of Mike Kollross, who made good use of some new 1x4x5 windows. Andrew F. built some chemical plants and an intermodal container yard is located near his red warehouse. John Koob's blue storage facility can be found near the center of the industrial yard.

The industrial area also features a working Bascule bridge, the brainchild of Kevin Maynes. It can be automatically or manually lifted to allow the passage of NALUG members into the center of the layout. The custom scissors crossover near the Bascule bridge allows trains to be moved between the two DCC mainlines. Standard LEGO turnouts are not able to accomplish this feat when there is only four studs of separation between the two mainlines.
