Nalug Draft at Laszlo's - October 18, 2003

On Oct 18, 2003, several NALUG members participated in a LEGO parts draft. There were up to six participants in four separate drafts of various sets. At the end, all left happy with their loot (including our host Laz).

We started the day with shock at the excellent parts available in the red tub set #4400. People were so interested in this set that we decided to draft it. First, however, we drafted 1382 Scary Laboratory. The piles of parts were spread over two tables, which made things interesting. People could not wait to draft the red tub, so that set was next. The winner of the dice roll immediately targeted the huge pile of 2x2 light grey bricks. Two tables were also used for this draft, and the participants between the tables like a school of fish. We drafted two sets each of the 4719 Quality Quidditch Supplies. John won the toss and went for the spiffy decorated windows. This was unusually since Mike won most of the tosses for the other drafts. Other sets drafted included 4723 Diagon Alley as well as set 3280.

While drafting, everyone chatted about LEGO and NALUG shows. Andrew brought a custom CP rail engine for people to admire. It was a great day outdoors for the time of year, so people did not mind coming out. Everyone thanked our host Laz and headed off to raid the stores for those splendid red tubs.
